A major goal of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission is to help sustain the profitability and growth of Arkansas businesses.

AEDC's Existing Business Resource Team has 12 representatives located across the state who are charged with helping companies develop and maintain an effective workforce.

These area representatives maintain effective working relationships with new and established companies, educational institutions, local and state government officials, chambers of commerce, training consortia and local economic developers.

  • Determine training needs.
  • Help develop curriculum.
  • Locate instructors.
  • Manage training logistics.
  • Help prepare grants requests, applications and reports.
  • Create and maintain lists of required workforce skills by industry sector and region.
  • Communicate required skills to local training providers and determine their ability to meet the requirements.
  • Find instructors to train the trainers.
